Why I Love Bryce...

I am not a sappy person. Bryce and I are not the type of couple who cuddle and kiss in public, or say nice things to each other in the presence of others, for that matter. But here is one reason I love being married to Bryce:
I NEVER HAVE TO PLAY IN THE
SNOW WITH MY KIDS AGAIN
Anyone who knows me, or talks to me long enough during the winter months, knows I HATE being cold. Back before Bryce came along I would go outside with Blake and let him play in the snow like a good parent. I would help him build a snowman and teach him how to do snow angels. Now, I never have to do a snow angel again!! Bryce is like a big kid when it snows out. He gets the kids dressed all warm and then sleds or 4 wheels with them for hours. Occassionally, I go out too. But it is usually only once a winter. Today was not my day.

Here is the picture I took of Tayson yesterday, from inside the house, because I didn't want to go out in the cold to take the picture. Notice it is fuzzy from the glare of the window!

SWITCH GEARS:
Here is another snapshot from Sunday. Looks like an ordinary picture of a little boy in his Sunday best. But look a little closer. His socks have eyes!

He was so proud of himself that he got his socks and shoes on all by himself. I have grown so much as a parent (sigh). When Blake was this age I would have demanded that he change into some nice respectable white socks. But not now. Tayson's sense of accomplishment was much more important than making sure he had matching socks. So, I let him wear them to church. I wonder if anyone besides me noticed????

ugly.christmas.sweater.party.

Catie and Rod threw a raging 2nd Annual Ugly Christmas Sweater Party. It was even bigger than last year. Being the only sober people there (except for prego Andrea) it was my job to memorialize the event. Here are the highlights.

Of course, the most important part, for me anyway. The food. Catie did a wonderful job artfully displaying all the food she purchased from Costco. Costco really makes throwing a party easy.

How did someone catch me eating this. Maybe it was because I was eating one of these cookies every half an hour. Elisa said they were from the "cookie Nazi" in Prosser. I need that lady's name and address.

PARADE OF SWEATERS

Our hosts: Rod and Catie Harkins

Me and Bryce: Thanks for the Christmas sweatshirts Bonnie.

Heather (Czebotar) and Roy

L-R: Andrea Clare, Jenny Johnson, Catie Harkins, Elisa Riley, ME

Steve and Kristi McKinnon: Steve wins second place in my heart. It was not that his sweater was that ugly, but the horrible part was that it was a woman's sweater vest 2 sizes too small for him.

MY FAVORITE OF THE NIGHT: Cousin Eddie (if you don't know that that is a reference from and you still don't get it after the picture, then I am very sad for you)

Well played Ryan. Well played.

Only Catie is cute enough to get away with Christmas pigtails.

Dirtiest Trick Play

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cSnew1PIYqk

Can someone please tell me how to load videos directly on to my blog page. It takes away from the effect of the video when you have to go to it through the link, don't you think?

Anyway, I saw this video and think it is absolutely hilarious. Since it involves football I showed it to Blake and Bryce and they were not as impressed. Bryce's boring response was that they were teaching kids how to do dirty tricks. Whatever Mr. Rogers. If a team would have done that against Blake's football team I would have laughed my butt off. Cudos to the deviant who thought of this trick play.

The Difference Between Boys and Girls

Boys

Bryce, Tayson and Blake wrestling. Blake trying to show Bryce that he can take him (see picture below for reality). Tayson trying to "help" Blake beat Bryce.

Girls

Me and Kamri going through clothes we got from a friend.

After all was calm
Doing what we do best - Tayson on the GameBoy, Blake watching sports on TV, and Kamri content to be held.

Tagged!

Leave it up to Heather to pretend she was tagged, make up ridiculous questions and then tag pretty much everyone she knows. But who am I to argue with a post-partum friend ... when she says "tag", I say ok.

1. where is your favorite place to people watch?

Costo - they just got out all the Christmas stuff and people act as if they have never seen pretty wrapping paper, or a life size lighted Santa, or free samples of lobster bisque

2. where is the best place to get a soda?-

the SunMart on the corner of Columbia Center Blvd. and Deschuts. I have to agree with Heather, the turd ice makes all the difference.

3. what's you nickname for your inlaws?

The Bonnie and Bob (with a funny accent that I can't describe in words)

4. what celebrity do you least resemble?

Mariah Carey - I may share the same name, but I do not share any of the hoochieness.

5. if you got to watch your husband make out with another man, who would it be

Jason Statham - because if I can't have him, Bryce could at least tell me if he was a good kisser.

6. if you had to hit one animal with your car, what would it be?

A dog - I am only partially kidding

7. tell us about the sweatiest day of your life

The day I gave birth to Blake, my 9 lb 10 oz baby boy, NATURALLY!

8. what is the worst outfit you've ever worn?

Sadly, it was a dress that I thought was beautiful at the time. It was in the height of the 80s. I was a huge bright blue dress with puffy sleeves, and tie around the waist and lots of material for the skirt. I think if I had it now, I could probably still fit into it now, 10 sizes bigger and 17 years older, but we wore things big back then :)

9. if you had to spend $10 at Home Depot, what would you buy?

A candy bar and a book of new house plans. It's my new obsession.

10. please post a very happy picture of yourself:

I tag anyone on my list who has the guts to answer these hard-hitting questions.

Halloween!

Here is my late Halloween posting. I wish I could be the person who came right home after trick-or-treating and actually get a posting on Oct 31 - but alas, I am not that good. So Nov 6 is good enough.

Our Little Kamri Bug - Borrowed costume from the Reids next door

Recycled Referee Costume for Blake - I don't know which sign he is doing, but I'm sure it means something!

Tayson is Batman! Most of the costume are actually pajamas...the rest were birthday presents that he wears on a regular basis.

I know its not much, but at least I tried :)

Tayson, Jaxson, and Kamri. Jaxson is using Tayson's old costume (see previous post) - he looked just as cute!

Oh, my! What do I say to this? Alyssa and Brandon pulled out all the stops. Apparently, they came up with these costumes in about 15 minutes. Brandon was actually creaping me out with his nerd walk and talk. According to them, they were the only adults dressed up at their ward halloween party ... they are really fitting in!

Best of

I finally got around to copying my pictures have have been stuck on my old lap top onto our new computer. There were over 1000 pictures to transfer. It was fun to go through them again. Here are some pictures from the last couple of years, pre-blog era!
Tayson

Cute Baby!

"I love the 80s"

Mr. Potato Head Tayson
(why I like to make my children look ridiculous, I have no idea...I think it is a sickness)

Again, why do I do it??

Halloween 2007 - Tayson and the dog he drew his inspiration from, Daisy.

This is why he dressed up as a dog, because when someone would knock on the door, Tayson would run to the door and bark at them through the window...like his friend Daisy.

Halloween 2006. Bryce didn't like this costume at first. I thought he was so cute in it. It is coming out of retirement this year for Jaxson - can't wait to see him in it!

Tayson and Claire - only 2 months apart. We just went to Claire's 3rd birthday party on Tuesday. I hate it when they grow up.

Tayson feeding Rod. If you look real close, you can see speckles of white milk that Tayson was getting all over Rod. It was good practice for Rod, now that he has baby Aubree.

Hee Hee! Tayson's first snow - and first face plant.

Blake

Blake's inspiration...

for this. What kind of parents let their child do that? (Answer - cool ones:)

Nice hair, again. Seriously, what is wrong with us??

Halloween 2007 - In case you don't get it, he is a sumo ballerina - duh!

What up
I'm just glad he didn't throw a gang sign on a Sunday

Friends and Family:

Back in the day - when Brooks was a baby.

Last year about this time - Catie and Alyssa were gorda! (Don't hate me for putting these pictures up girls - you are both glowing with that pregnancy glow)
One year ago - I was in New York City baby!
